How about ham? Lots of possibilities there--slices; diced and fried with green peppers and onions; hey, ham and pineapple, why not. Ham is good cold and hot.
I was going to suggest proscuitto with melon, but you'd have to have really good melon. And perhaps this isn't the economic/political statement you want to make.
On balance, ham with pineapple slices will make you popular AND round out the menu.
That is a very good idea. I've never actually bought ham, though. What do I buy that isn't all chemical-laden or maple syrup-flavored?
Maybe you could do some variation on hash browns. Although I suspect that "egg casserole" is a concoction of eggs, milk, cheese, shredded potatoes, and bacon or sausage.
By the way, what IS egg casserole? And what did you decide to take to that party?
